An Empty Month: If It’s Empty, I Liked It

Because I have a problem with doing things like every other beloved blogger, I’m going to share my product “empties” with you today, in the middle of the month…the next month after the month that the products actually became “empties”.
Or in some cases, almost empties.

No, I haven’t been hoarding these empty containers for over a month in my apartment. Don’t judge me! They’ve been in a bag hidden in a closet.
It’s really a rare occasion for me to actually finish anything. Well, as far as beauty products go.

Below you’ll find pics of all the things. I tried to make the descriptions and raves as brief as possible but c’mon, it’s ME! I don’t know how to do that.

Tarte Lights, Camera Lashes 4 in 1 Mascara
Brilliant mascara. I cannot tell you enough: THIS MASCARA IS AMAZING. Get it. Super black, perfect consistency, volumizing, lengthening and stays put. You will not lose half of your lashes when you try to remove this. Love it. You’ll know you’re almost done with the tube when it gets kind of dry and you’re scraping the edges of the tube like a fiend looking for more product. This one lasted me about 2 months.

Hourglass Immaculate Foundation in “Beige”
Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer
These are my go to foundation/primer duo when my skin is going through a super oily phase. Lately, that’s been everyday for the past month and a half. These keep the skin matte and smooth all day. I am often under hot lights for many hours at a time and I tend to look like a greased pig by 1pm. These keep the oil at a minimum. This combo is a must for me during summer months. I always have backups in my makeup stash.

Bite 5 Night Fix For Lips Treatment Kit
I reviewed this here. Get into it. It actually lasted me more than 5 nights. 7 nights.

Algenist Firming & Lifting Cream
I’m a huge fan of Algenist treatments and creams. I don’t know why I haven’t blogged more about them because I love the brand. Blah blah yeah…ANYWAY I use this cream on top of whatever serum I’m obsessed with at the moment. Uh, here read this: My review and rave about a mid life crisis serum
I was so sad when I used the very last glob of this stuff. I feel like my skin is smoother and dare I say lifted? Honestly, I’m not at the age where everything is falling completely. It’s only falling a little. I would like for it to stop. You can check Algenist out at Sephora , Ulta or here.

La Roche Posay Effaclar K Daily Renovating Anti Relapse Acne Treatment
This is an acne/blackhead treatment from France and they sell it in CVS. It does the job to lessen and ultimately destroy any face monsters dwelling under and at the surface. The ingredients are awesome if you are an acne sufferer like or kinda like me. They all work. I use a lot from the Effaclar line but this is my favorite.
Active Ingredients: 1.5% Salicylic Acid, .3% Micro Exfoliating LHA, .05% Retinyl Linoleate

So the next thing up is almost empty, but I wanted to share it with you anyway.
Cover Fx CC Cream in G Medium-Deep
The BEST CC cream out there. This is one of those products that actually does what it says. It evens out skintone immediately upon application AND over time it corrects skin discoloration. There is licorice root extract to naturally and effectively reduce and prevent hyperpigmentation. There is also a built in primer w/ SPF 30.
The formula has anti aging time release technology. I tend to reach for this on days when I’m in a rush or I just want to effectively even out my skin. This is my 2nd tube of this CC cream. It will always be a staple in my personal and professional stash. Soon I will do a post dedicated to my Cover Fx collection. It’ll be grand.

Tarte BB Tinted Treatment in Medium
This one looks like it’s covered in dirt. It’s not. Sorry. I just make a mess of things in white packaging. I use this as a base sometimes before I put on my Tarte Powder Foundation (Medium Tan Sand). That combo right there gives full coverage without feeling heavy. It makes my skin feel like silk. I use a lot of it because I have a big face and it takes quite a bit to get a decent base. My skin likes it and doesn’t fight me when I wear it. Did I mention it has 12 hour wear? No? It does. I’ve tested it out. It doesn’t budge.

What’s next? Why am I sharing this with you? Umm because it’s my blog and I want to.

Alaffia Lavender Shea Body Wash
I love this brand. They do so much for the people of Africa. I am a supporter of brands that give back. Click the highlighted “Alaffia” and educate yourself. They also do a lot for my skin! It took me a month and a half to get through this body wash. You get a lot for only $10. It’s paraben free, sulfate free, mineral oil free and all bad things free. It lathers like a dream and leaves your skin moisturized and smelling amazing. They also have body lotions, skincare, bar soaps and hand washes that I am looking forward to trying soon. I bought this at Vitamin Shoppe.

Life NK Float Away Body Wash End of the Day
This has a very calming scent. Vanilla, Musk, Rose,White Neroli and I can’t believe I’m about to type this one, Patchouli. Blehh. I hate Patchouli with a passion. For some reason it works on this body wash. I’m not sure what sorceress created this body wash but I’m hooked. It leaves you smooth, smelling and feeling like you’ve been soaking in a tub of unicorn juice and rare exotic flowers. I have the bath soak also but, that’s not empty because ew, I don’t take baths. Who wants to sit n soak in their own filth? Not me. I will just use it as a body wash. I hope it works. This body wash is expensive. I’m not even going to front, I bought it at Ulta on sale for just under $5. Yes please.

So this turned out to be longer and wordier than I hoped. If you got through it all you’re awesome. If you tuned out half way through, try reading it in bits and pieces while you’re on the toilet or trying to force yourself to sleep.
